Saint Patrick’s Day Events

St Patrick’s Day Parade

The 50th Annual St Patrick’s Day parade sponsored by the Friends of St Patrick will take place on Friday the 17th at 12 noon on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki. The parade route begins on Kalakaua fronting Fort DeRussy and ends at Kapiolani Park by the bandstand. The Parade this year will feature Dan Quinn, Pipe Major of the Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii as the Friends of Saint Patrick’s Irishman of the Year. The event should conclude by 1:30pm

Thank yous are extended to our Parade sponsors; JJ Dolans, Murphy’s Bar & Grill, Anna O’Brien’s, Kelley O’Neil’s, O’Toole’s, the Irish Rose Saloon, Anheuser Busch of Hawaii, Killians Irish Red, Guinness, Pabst and Primo, Boston Beer Co., Dubliner, Tullamore Dew, Bushmills, Two Gingers, and Barefoot Wines.

The Parade will close Kalakaua Ave. from 11:30 until about 1:30 as the parade passes.

Interesting fact: Honolulu’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is the last parade on the planet each year as any events west of Hawaii are beyond the International Dateline.

Parade information can be found at the parade tag at

Friends of St Patrick Post-Parade Party

Immediately following the parade the Friends will be heading to Kelley O’Neil’s on 311 Lewers St to celebrate Erin’s favorite saint with Live Irish Music at 1pm featuring Celtic Waves followed by McFiddles at 4:30 pm, and Taja will play through the evening into the wee hours. St Patrick’s Day garb appropriate for the day will be available as well as a menu of corned beef and cabbage, fish & chips, beef stew and cold corned beef sandwiches and of course the fine selection of Irish brews including Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s, and Killian’s and a great selection of finer Irish whiskeys including Jameson’s, Bushmills, Tullamore Dew, Dubliner and Two Gingers.

At the Irish Rose Saloon, Elephant will play from 1-4pm, James McCarthy from 4:30 to 8:30, and Dinosaurus X will round out the night playing from 9pm to closing.

Anna O’Brien’s will have an outside party featuring Samuel Adams and Pabst Blue Ribbon starting in the afternoon. McFiddles will be playing from 1-4pm, a live Irish Session from 4:30 to 8:30, and the night will finish out with Scott Carey. Inside will feature Killian’s, Smithwick’s, Guinness and Harp, and corned beef and cabbage plates

Downtown St Patrick’s Day Block Party

The biggest bash and the last place on the planet (this side of the dateline) to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Murphy’s begins its party in the open air parking lot at the corners of Nuuanu and Marin. The Party in the parking lot features a wide variety of food on the Irish Theme of course featuring corned beef but with a fine seafood selection at the Guinness Oyster Bar. The food and service start at 11am within the parking lot.

Always a blast, the block party starts at around 6:00pm as the streets are closed on Nuuanu, Merchant and Marin Lane. Murphy’s Bar and Grill takes to the streets with the good folks at O’Toole’s to provide the highlight of every St Patrick’s Day. Live music will include the Celtic Pipes and Drums, the Doolin Rakes and Elephant on the streets. Libations by Guinness, Harp, Killlian’s, Smithwick’s, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Jameson’s and Barefoot Wines. Live Music, great food, clothing and fun pervade the streets.

Catch the full day of Irish Music at O’Toole’s “the Party within the Party.” Starting at 1pm with the Audrey Knuth, followed at 4pm by Bill Mullen and capped off with Honolulu’s own Doolin Rakes. The street party should run until 10pm, while O’Toole’s remains open until 1:30am.
